July 9, 2010 - SOACDF Grant funds available for job creation in Jackson County
JACKSON COUNTY – The Jackson County Economic Development Board announces that there is $20,000 in grant funds currently available through the Southern Ohio Agricultural and Community Development Foundation (SOACDF) for Jackson County for the Fiscal year starting July 1, 2010 – June 30, 2011.
City of Jackson to receive $2 million for rail rehab
The Board and Staff organize regular local training events of interest to business people. Topics have included marketing, international trade, customer service, record-keeping, formal business plans, business financing, promotional materials, incentives, entrepreneurship and more.
Adena's Oak Hill Facility off to a successful start
Located within the Economic Development Office is a resource center developed for use by small business people and those planning to start a small business. Resources within the center include- business planning guides, samples of business plans, business management textbooks, CD-ROM guides, a computer with internet connection and a digital camera to assist in developing product literature.
Local Business Advocacy
The Board and Staff actively advocate existing and new business activity. The local economy and our residents’ standard of living depend upon these enterprises. Business people are our “honored guests” and successful public-private partnerships our goal.
Ohio Tax Reform Gives State Economic Advantage
As a component of the County’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Community Housing Improvement Program (CHIP) our staff administers the Fair Housing Program locally. This program promotes and also educates the general public about housing discrimination in an effort to prevent discrimination.
